∙ 14y agoA US battalion averaged about 600 men per battalion (up 900, but less than a 1,000 for mechanized infantry battalions). Two US infantry battalions were in the fight (Air Cavalry is infantry). Over 300 US infantrymen were Kia; so roughly 900 plus men survived (counting WIAs).
