0-9, with nine incomplete, plus an early "Student Symphony" in F Minor, available as "00." Unless you want to count the several versions of the First, Second, Third, Fourth, and Eighth as separate pieces.

Anton Bruckner was responsible for composing nine symphonies, although he actually wrote more. He wrote a total of 11 symphonies, with 2 of them coming before his Symphony No.1, his first one coming in 1863.

Bruckner published 8 symphonies during his life. His Ninth Symphony was not finished but was published and is a major work in the standard repertoire. After his death, two more Bruckner symphonies were discovered and published: The Study Symphony in F; Symphony No. 0; So, one could say that Bruckner wrote 11 symphonies.

Mahler was composing his Tenth (begun in the Summer of 1910) when he died on 18 May 1911. Officially, he had completed nine 'numbered' symphonies, before his death at age 50 + 10 months + 11 days; however, in 1908, he also composed a choral symphony (after Mahler-VIII was finished). And being enormously superstitious, Mahler decided not to sequentially call it 'No. 9', as several major composers (including Beethoven and Bruckner), had died upon completion of their 9th - and apparently, Mahler wasn't yet ready to go. The much admired and hauntingly splendid "Das Lied von der Erde" (in English: "Song of the Earth"), was said by Mahler, himself to be his "most deeply personal" work. These facts, therefore, conclude that Mahler, in truth, completed ten complete symphonies, leaving the one that he had numbered Ten (in his attempt to 'trick Death'), as his Unfinished. The British musicologist and composer, Deryck Cooke completed a 'performance version' of the Mahler-Ten Adagio, (all that Mahler had outlined), which is occasionally performed today, although some conductors, out of respect for Mahler, refuse to interpret it.

1980 New Grove works list gives 59 sacred choral works, and 47 secular. This includes 11 works that are lost, incomplete, or of doubtful authorship, but there are at least 95 complete, surviving, authentic works. This is not counting works that were revised and reissued, so some lists may show over 100 works. The following site is very helpful in explaining the chronology and revisions:
