The amount of thoughts one can produce in a single second cannot be calculated effectively. Thoughts are based on the emotion one is feeling. Anger could increase the thoughts in one person, but decrease that in the next. You cannot know exactly the correct amount of thoughts one thinks in a single second.

∙ 15y agoIt appears that the human mind is incapable of not thinking, at least on the subconscious level. Because of the difficulty in defining a "thought" and the impossibility of determining exactly what is happening within the brain and consciousness at any given moment, it is not possible to answer that question at present.

∙ 11y agoThere is no precise and widely accepted definition of the term "thought". Therefore, it is very hard to count thoughts in a defined period of time (if ever possible). Even if you find an "answer" to your question, if not accompanied by a precise definition of the term "thought", I suggest that you don't consider it too seriously.
Same applies to few other therms related to the brain/mind topic: consciousness, intelligence, smart, creative, etc.
Many philosophers and scientists attempted to provide such a definition, however most of them failed. Recent scientific research results suggested involvement of, so called, cortico-thalamic
loops in the thought process, especially the consciousness and conscious thought. You can read about those newest findings here:

The second source defines the thought as:

Functional Definition: A Thought is any set of neural signaling activity that involve cortico-thalamic signaling pathways.

Functional Definition: A Thought is Conscious if its neural signaling activities are contained within a sustained cortico-thalamic active signaling loop(s).
Considering the upper definitions, one can see that there are no strict boundaries of the thoughts, which means, they cannot be enumerated (counted).

Well , it could mean alot of things. But what is most important is how do you feel when you are not going out with him? Do you want him back the very second you are over? Do you think about him every minute of every day? If you do then this could just mean you know you want him but you wont believe it. Try going out with some one else. See how you feel about him. But if you do have second thoughts, even at any time in the relation ship, it may not be a good steady one. If there is second thoughts it may be time for a change. You should never doubt your love.
