The Earth rotates on its axis once each day. It is, in fact, the rotation of the Earth that creates a "day".

However, due to the revolution of the planet around the Sun the a day can be taken to mean in reference to the sun or in reference to stars. The difference is accounted for by noticing the difference between a sidereal day and a solar day. A sidereal day is the time it takes for the Earth to spin once in reference to the vernal equinox rather than in reference to the sun. Over the course of a year the difference between the sidereal days and solar days adds up to a day as the revolution of the Earth around the sun masks one entire rotation of the axis.

366 to the nearest integer.

Try a dime and quarter on a table to represent the earth and sun to help think it through. It will help to know that the earth rotates on its own axis in the same relative direction as its revolution around the sun.

Circular/rotational motion is measured by angular degreesof movement, or by the number of times that a complete 360 degree rotation has been made.

In one sidereal day i.e. on its axis with respect to itself (or, more clearly measurable, 'with reference to the distant stars') the earth rotates 360o, i.e. once.

In a solar day (24 hours, i.e. with respect to the sun) it rotates about 360.98o degrees, which is about 1 and 1/365th times.

FURTHER INFORMATION

In one year (i.e. one complete revolution around the sun) the earth rotates 365.2422 '24- hour' days with respect to the sun, but it actually rotates, with respect to the distant stars, 366.24 times approximately, or, more precisely, 360.98 x 365.2422 / 360 = 366.23647 times!

you should know that the earth spins 2 times every 24 hours which is a day so you take 365X2=730 times a year but i might be wrong
