Since 1956, there have been four position players in MLB to be a game's winning pitcher ...
1) Wilson Valdez - second baseman for the Philadelphia Phillies pitched a scoreless top of the 19th inning in a game against the Cincinnati Reds on May 25, 2011. The Phils scored in the bottom of the 19th and Valdez got credited with the win.
2) Brent Mayne - catcher for the Colorado Rockies pitched a scoreless top of the 12th inning against the Atlanta Braves on August 22, 2000. The Rockies scored in the bottom of the 12th and Mayne got credited with the win.
3) Rocky Colavito - outfielder for the New York Yankees pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings between the 4th and 6th innings against the Detroit Tigers on August 25, 1968. The Tigers led, 4-0, when he entered the game and the Yankees led, 6-5, when he left. The game ended at 6-5 and he got credited with the win. Ironically, Colavito drew a walk batting in the 6th inning and scored the sixth and ultimate winning run for the Yanks on a single by catcher Jake Gibbs.
4) Johnny O'Brien - second baseman for the Pittsburgh Pirates pitched the final 2 1/3 innings against the Philadelphia Phillies on July 3, 1956. The Pirates scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th and O'Brien got credited with the win. O'Brien wound up pitching in 25 games during his MLB career (he played in 248 games at second base and another 15 at shortstop) and this was his only win.
