How many tornadoes per day?

Answer:
It is not that simple as tornadoes don't occur at a very regular rate.
The U.S. averages about 1200 tornadoes per years which works out to an average of about 3.3 per day. Accurate global statistics are not available as many
countries do not keep records of tornadoes.
It is far from an even distribution, though. First, tornadoes are far more common in spring and summer than in the winter and activity varies from year to year. Second, tornadoes often occur in outbreaks with major events sometimes producing several dozen tornadoes in a single day. Between outbreaks there can be periods of little to no tornado activity.
