To the best of my knowledge, there are no official records to show if President Abraham Lincoln received any votes from the slave states in the election of 1860. If there were records, they more than likely got destroyed over the years by carelessness, fire, or flood. Today, it's a much different story than some 150 years ago, as far as record keeping goes. I can tell you the following information about the Election of 1860:

Abraham Lincoln (Republican) - 1,865,593 Popular Votes and 180 Electoral Votes.

John C. Breckinridge (Democrat/Southern) - 848,356 Popular Votes and 72 Electoral Votes.

Stephen A. Douglas (Democrat/Northern) - 1,382,713 Popular Votes and 12 Electoral Votes.

John Bell (Constitutional Union) - 592,906 Popular Votes and 39 Electoral Votes.

ELECTORAL VOTE = 303

Lincoln won the majority of the electoral votes in 18 states - California; Connecticut; Illinois; Indiana; Iowa; Maine; Massachusetts; Michigan; Minnesota; New Hampshire; New Jersey; New York; Ohio; Oregon; Pennsylvania; Rhode Island; Vermont; and Wisconsin.

Breckinridge won the electoral votes in 11 states - Alabama; Arkansas; Delaware; Florida; Georgia; Louisiana; Maryland; Mississippi; North Carolina; South Carolina; and Texas.

Bell won the electoral votes in 3 states - Kentucky; Tennessee; and Virginia.

Douglas won the majority of electoral votes in only 1 state - Missouri.

NOTE: Since it was the Southern States that left the Union, it is assumed that Lincoln received no votes within that region of the country. However, since there's no official documentation, no one will ever be able to prove whether Abraham Lincoln got or didn't get any votes in the slave states, during the 1860 Presidential Election.

How did the emancipation proclamation affect the north and the south?

The South believed that US President Lincoln was attempting to start a slave revolt in the South which would have been damaging and cost many lives both slave and Southern lives. Lincoln was not trying to do that however. His goal was to allow slaves freed when Union troops invading slave states in the Confederacy to migrate North and also to serve in the Union military. ( this was later on )In the North four states were slave states. These were Kentucky, Missouri, Maryland and Delaware. Slave owners in these states were uncomfortable with Lincoln's proclamation and slaves in these border states were surely confused.

Should Lincoln have freed the slaves in the border states?

No. It would have alienated many influential slave-owners, and driven those states into the arms of the Confederacy.

How many votes did Lincoln get when he was elected president?

In 1860 Lincoln was elected as the 16th President of the United States winning 40% of the popular vote. Lincoln was very upset when he learned that he received only 6 votes in the county of his birth, Hardin County, Kentucky. It seems that some scandal-mongers were casting doubt about Lincoln's parentage, saying Nancy Lincoln was a prostitute and gave birth to Abraham by another man.
