If you know how many children will be there and how many adults then you will calculate it on this. Children will usually only eat one hotdog or one hamburger. Men generally go back for seconds and some women.
If you are still not sure than calculate approximately 180 of each. Make your hamburger patties ahead and freeze. Then take them out to thaw and cook. As long as hamburger patties are WELL COOKED they can be refrozen again. Hot dogs as long as kept cold in the fridge can be bought a few days before and any that are not used can be frozen.
