Because the US Mint never issued WWII commemorative sets, my guess is that you have 5 coins from that time period in a set assembled and sold by a private company.

Without knowing the coins' conditions and mint marks it's difficult to determine and exact value but in any case it would have to be less than what it was sold for, because whoever made the set wouldn't plan to lose any money on the deal.

At the risk of throwing cold water on things, most of these sets retail for far more than the coins are actually worth. Their cost includes the holder, whatever documentation comes with them, plus a healthy chunk of profit. The coins are interesting but unless you want the holder, etc. it's usually possible to assemble a similar set in much better condition by going to an auction or coin show.
