Most of the Ike's are NOT worth saving but a very few are take them to a coin dealer.
If the coin has a copper edge on it like a dime or quarter, it's not really silver. These are made of copper-nickel and are only worth a buck to maybe $1.15 unless they're in like-new condition. Some collectors' versions were struck in 40% silver and are worth $4 to $8. They tend to have grayish edges and the surfaces look a couple of shades lighter than a standard clad coin.
