∙ 13y agoThe general dosage for oral benedryl is 1mg/pound. So, for a 70 pound dog you can safely give them up to 70 mg. However, I strongly suggest checking with your vet to ensure that your dog does not have any health conditions, or is taking any other medications that would negatively interact with benedyl. Also, benedryl is an antihistamine that helps reduce inflammation and itching caused by allergic reactions. If it doesnt help with your dogs symptoms, he/she should see a get to rule out other possibile conditions

∙ 11y agoThe Benadryl dose for a dog is one milligram for every pound given up to two times daily. So, a 14 pound dog would get 14 milligrams of regular strength Benadryl. Don't give a dog extra strength Benadryl.
