Oil tanker ships come in various sizes, from about 20,000 tons to 500,000 tons. "Supertankers" are generally defined as those greater than 250,000 tonnes dead-weight (meaning the maximum weight they can carry when fully loaded). Today's supertankers, on average, can carry about 2 million barrels or 84 million gallons of crude oil and petroleum product. The largest supertanker in the world is the Norwegian-owned Knock Nevis which is 647,955 tonnes dead-weight and can hold 4.1 million barrels of petroleum.
Depending on its size and capacity, oil tankers can hold anything from a few thousand DWT and up to 550 000 DWT in ultra large crude tankers.
DWT is Deadweight Tonnage. 550 000 DWT roughly equals 4 million barrels of crude oil.
the oil tanker weigh about 2000 pound tonnes
2,000,000 barrels.
The tanker is a hollow shell, so it can be filled with oil. One of the problems is that many are not doubled hold and when they hit something they leak. It is unloaded by pipeline.
oil tanks are cargo hold in oil tanker.OBO ships ( oil bulk ore) having oil tanks which is similar to cargo hold in bulk carrier
2 million barrels
the capacity of how much a tanker truck holds is 40,000 kl
Normally a Tanker carries some liquid, mostly Oil, therefore the term "Oil Tanker".
The tankers that are pulled by semi tractors hold 5000 gallons.
It was not an oil tanker, but a drilling platform.
Road tankers are large lorries that carry large tanks that can hold bulk liquids or powder. A milk tanker will carry milk. And an oil tanker will carry petroleum products - petrol, diesel, oil, etc.
Some super tankers can transport 2,000,000 barrels of oil.
The worlds first successful oil tanker was built by Ludvig Nobel
