PayPal does not charge any commission on payments that you make, or money that you send.
If you have a Personal account, it is free to accept or receive money as long as the payment comes from either the payer's PayPal account or their bank account. If the payment is card funded, a fixed fee and percentage fee is payable.
If you have a Premier or Business account, a fee is deducted from all payments that you receive, however they are funded.
The fee scale is sliding and is based on the amount of money you receive per month. Also, the amount you pay depends on your own local currency. For example, the fees for the UK are:
Up to £1,500.00
3.4% + £0.20 per transaction
£1,500.01 to £6,000.00
2.9% + £0.20 per transaction
£6,000.01 to £15,000.00
2.4% + £0.20 per transaction
£15,0001 tp £55,000.00
1.9% + £0.20 per transaction
above £55,000.00 1.4% + £0.20 per transaction
(although a higher percentage figure applies for non-domestic receipts.)
To check the commission payable for any particular PayPal country, log in to your local PayPal site, enter "fee structure" in the search box and the results will show what you can expect to pay to receive payments.
