Its about 20Kilograms or 45 lbs if made by tempered steel.

It depends heavily on which period you are talking about, as the design of such armor varied across the times.

What we think of as a Knight Suit of Armor is more properly called Full Plate Armor. It is a full-body covering, made of shaped steel plates, commonly using some sort of leather and/or chain mail backing to facilitate flexible joints. Such a suit is incredibly heavy - most wearers of such armor would have to be literally lifted into the saddle of their horse by a small crane, and only the largest and strongest horses could be used. A Full Plate Armor suit could employ steel up to several millimeters thick in places, and typically weighed at least 150lbs (70kg). Needless to say, movement in such a heavy suit was very limited - the wearer could not effectively walk, and thus, should they be unhorsed, was immobilized.

The other typical medieval armor suit of the Knight was what we commonly refer to as Plate Mail these days. This was a combination of lightweight chain mail, leather backing, and several large steel plates covering critical sections of the body, but not providing near-total coverage like Plate Armor. In general, probably only about 50% of the wearer's total body surface would be covered by steel plates in such a suit. This suit was much more flexible, and weighed significantly less than Full Plate, and allowed for the wearer to fight effectively on foot. However, it still significantly reduced the flexibility and mobility of the wearer. Depending on design and construction, such Plate Mail could weigh anywhere from 40 to 75 lbs (20 to 35kg).

Medieval European plate armour (the "knight in shining armour" image ) tended to weigh from 22kg (45lbs) up to 30kg (60lbs). Earlier full armour made from of maille (chain-mail) was heavier, at about 25kg (50lbs) to 35kg (70lbs), and less well distributed on the wearer's body.

a number of harnesses of plate armour from the late medieval era were made specifically for sporting jousting tournaments. These armours are designed for maximum protection in a sport, rather than practical armour for military combat. several of these armours exceed 50kg (100lbs), with features such as helmets which physically bolt onto the chest-plate, and massive one-peice arms that hold the user's body in place.

Such armours are responsible for the myths of all armours weighing a huge amount.

Alough appearing heavy, the armour a knight wore was often very light; a full set of equipment would only weigh 50 pounds, if that. A man with enough skill and fitness could easily run, and even swim in it (if modern replica testing is anything to go by).

Well... The armor that the vast majority of knights wore into combat from about 1000 A.D. though 1500 A.D. (when firearms made armor obsolete) was either a chainmail coat or what is now referred to as Plate Mail. The full suit of Plate Armor (all steel plates with a leather backing) was really only worn for jousting tournaments and ceremonial occasions, as it was too bulky and heavy to be useful for combat (either mounted or on foot). In addition, Plate Amor was ridiculously expensive, and far out of reach for any but senior nobility and royalty.

Chainmail armor was generally a long "shirt" of mail (long sleeves with the torso portion falling down to just above the knees), and was sometimes paired with a set of mail pants. Modern chainmail (which almost always uses better quality steel and/or other lightweight metals) is almost always of much lighter weight than medieval examples, since the higher-quality metals allow for equal protection at lesser thicknesses. Chaimail shirts of medieval quality generally weigh around 35 lbs, with pants around 15-20lbs. The weight of such shirts falls very heavily on the shoulders and upper back, making wearing such a chainmail shirt very tiring, more so than it's weight might indicate. Swimming in such a suit (even just treading water to stay afloat) would be extremely difficult for anyone excepting an olympic-quality swimmer, as the construction of the chainmail shirt means that the portions of the body used to swim recieve the most weight and movement restrictions. Not to mention the fact that one would wear a heavily-padded cloth undergarment to prevent the chainmail from chafing the skin. For comparison - imagine wearing thermal underwear, jeans, and a sweat-shirt. Now, put on an (american) football shoulder pads, to which you've attached 30 lbs of iron weights. Put on a belt, and attach another 15lbs of iron weights there. Now, jump in the water. Swimming in that is not possible for any but the most skilled (and strong) swimmers.

Platemail armor uses several large plates of metal (generally, front and back torso plates, plus a half-dozen plates covering portions of the arms and legs) backed with leather, cloth, and lightweight chainmail to provide extra protection. For instance, a platemail suit might look like this: a lightly padded undergarment of cloth (think something similar to a pair of thermal underwear, but less form-fitting), a flexible leather gerkin with sleeves and a leather overpants, with a suit of plate-and-chain over that. Chain would be attached directly to the armor plates in some cases; in others, the plates would be fastened with leather straps. Such a suit is surprisingly flexible and allows for a better range-of-motion than pure chainmail, and also distributes the weight better (putting weight onto the waist and hips, and also directly onto the part where the plate is attached, rather than shifting all the weight to the shoulders). However, it still weighs at least 45 lbs total (and, possibly up to 70lbs). Getting such a combination suit wet would be catastrophic, even more so than chainmail. I seriously doubt that even a Olympic-class swimmer could manage to stay afloat in such a suit.

However, as designed, both the chainmail and Platemail suits are considerably more flexible than one would think, and allow for a very significant range-of-motion for wielding weaponry. Trotting in both for moderate distances (hundreds of yards) is easily possibly, and short-distance (tens-of-yards) full runs are quite doable. However, over longer periods of time, the weight (and distribution thereof) becomes noticeable. Chainmail in particular is fatiguing, and most soldiers (and knights) would only wear it for a few hours - they would strip down to the undergarments for large-scale movements, and only don the armor when combat was expected in the relatively near future (next one or two hours).

This is similar to modern solders, who often can carry 100lbs of body armor, pack, weapons, ammo and other gear on long treks, but almost always strip down to 30-40lbs of total weight as soon as combat occurs.

Plate armor, such as that used for jousting, weighs an average of one hundred pounds or fifty kilograms. Plate armor is not used for free fighting combat as it limits movement considerably.
