The last documented transaction for this stone was in "...June of 1979, when Henry Lambert, the New York jeweler, ... bought the Taylor-Burton Diamond for $5,000,000." As well, it has been slightly re-cut and now weighs 68.09 carats.

∙ 11y agoSeveral. The largest was the pear shaped Taylor-Burton diamond at 69.42 carats. He also gave her the Asscher Cut Krupp (Renamed The Elizabeth Taylor Diamond) , which is 33.19 carats, and the Pear shaped Burton Cognac diamond that weighs 32.14 carats.

∙ 13y agoThe precise purchase price that Mr Burton paid for the Taylor-Burton diamond, paid to Cartier, is not available on public record.
At the auction where Cartier purchased the diamond, they paid $1,050,000 for the stone. Mr Burton purchased the stone that day from them, and their only concession to revealing the price he paid is that 'Cartier made a profit'.
