If you were to buy them off of a scalper outside of the theatre, they would cost thousands of dollars and unfortunately, be invalid, meaning, they wouldn't get you into the show. Unless you are a Hollywood star and have been invited to the Oscars, there are three ways to get a seat at the show. You could apply to be a seat filler, you could register for bleacher seats (which are the seats you see when the stars are walking down the red carpet) or you register as a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and purchase tickets that way. The last step sounds easy but don't be fooled; you have to have two current members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences sponsor you.
