Yes. A Massage therapist in their own practice will make 60-75/hr. A Physical therapist in private practice can make $120-300/hr depending on whether they are cash based or insurance based. Although, an insurance based PT may bill out higher amounts, they have much higher overhead with staff to deal with insurance, time gaps from billing to payment, and caps from insurances or medicare for total amount of $ or total number of visits. Either way, though, a PT should be making significantly more than a massage therapist - it's 5 weeks vs 6-7 YEARS of schooling. (that said, it costs a lot more to get started as a PT - Education costs anywhere from $60-80k.

Only you can determine that. What is more important to you; job satisfaction or money? If you have a passion for the field, then it would be worth it. If you do not have a passion for the field, you should find another career path. Without a passion for what you want to do, you could wind up miserable in your work which would not be good for you, your employer, and the patients under your care.
