5 gallons... 8P
I weighed a cup of sand which equaled 12.45 ounces (used 12.5 ounces for computing purposes). So, 1 gallon of sand (16 cups) equals 200 ounces or divided by 16 ounces/pound, equals 12.5 pounds/gallon.
12.5 x 5 = 62.50 Pounds give or take.
40 lbs
It weighs 5 pounds:)
32-33, five(5) gallon buckets in one cubic yard or sand. ur welcome :P
There are approximately 32-33, five(5) gallon buckets in one cubic yard or sand.
Sand is heavier than water.
5 gallons = 1155 cubic inches = 0.6684 cubic footWe don't know the weight without more specific knowledge of the type of sand.
About 2.0572 5-gallon buckets of sand in 1.6 cubic feet.
The specific gravity of sand is between 90-130 lbs/cubic foot. http://www.reade.com/Particle_Briefings/spec_gra2.html#S 5 US gallons = 0.668402778 cubic feet 90 * 0.66840277 = 60.15625002 130 * 0.668402778 = 86.89236114 So, a 5 gallon bucket will hold between 60 and 87 pounds of sand, depending on how much liquid is in the sand and if it is packed down.
"It should weight 8lbs, because you have 128 oz to one gallon and it takes 16 oz to make one pound. Not sure what the gallon itself weighs." NO! Liquid ounces do not equal weight ounces! I gallon of coconut oil is approximately 9 pounds.
For plain water about 41.7 pounds at 8.345lbs per gallon.
because that is a silly question that is easy to answer 4 litres to a gallon, 1 kilo to a litre, therefore 20 kilos or approx 44 pounds
a gallon is 0.1337 cu ft, so 5 gallons is5 x .1337 = .668 cu ft5 cubic yards is 5 x 27 = 135 cubic feet135/.668 = 202 5-gallon pails
About 5 cents a gallon
