It depends on the current year and how many years the person has served in the military. For the current pay chart go to: http://www.dfas.mil/militarypay/militarypaytables/2008MilitaryPayCharts35.pdf A captain is an O3. So you just look at the 03 line and then the number of years served. If the captain was currently enlisted and then became an officer, you look at the line that says O3 with a little tiny 3 next to it.

I don't know how old this question is but it's the same with all u.s. Military but a (E-1) privet makes 2500 a year but you can only be a (E-1) privet for a year and thats with out and bonuses

Up until the Vietnam War (things might be different with today's military); USAF fighter pilots were paid by their rank...not their job. Therefore, you must look at the pay scale for a 1st Lieutenant, 2nd Lieutenant, Captain, Major, Lieutenant Colonel, Colonel, etc.
