Fees are different in each state. The following is an excerpt from Arkansas' Notary Handbook for 2010.
"Arkansas law provides that a notary may charge $5 for each
certificate and seal he/she executes and affixes."
It is usually just a nominal charge, and in some states the rate is set by statute. Depending on the circumstances it should probably cost somewhere in the 5 to 15 dollar range for a simple signature notarization.
