What can be the cause of a problem with installing a new Geforce 6200 256mb AGP 4x8x when previously having a Geforce 5200fx 128mb?

If you have problems installing a video card it always best to uninstall the old video drivers first. The reboot the machine and you get the generic 640x480 screen. Shutdown then jerk out the old card. Slamdunk the new card. Windoz will recognize it and look for drivers. Cancel that. Pop in the driver CD and install its drivers. Reboot and then change your desktop resolution (right click on desktop) and change it to 1024x768 or as high as your monitor resolution will allow. Now if my instructions are NOT the same as your new install CD says follow that but if that install fails then follow what I typed in. Third step is to call tech support and see. The worst comes to worst is either your motherboard has rejected the card install or even the card itself is defective. When you said that there is a problem with the new card you did not specify what exactly did it do. Did you get black screen or a bios error or wrong colors...heh the list goes on...good luck.
