Blue Lawnchairs:
I've been playing the sousaphone(marching tuba basically) in a marching band for four years and i have a fiberglass sousaphone and it weighs about 15-20 pounds, the brass sousaphones about 20-25 and the silver ones about 30-35 pounds.
the fiberglass is more convenient for carriage. the concert tubas are similar weight, although ive never seen a fiberglass one because brass sounds better and who needs a light tuba when it just sits on the chair.
i have a Bb tuba.
It depends on what kind of tuba you're using. The smaller version of the tuba can weigh 15 to 20 pounds. The regular version of the tuba can weigh from 20 to 25 pounds. For some professional tubas, they can even weigh up to 30 pounds.
the average tuba weighs about 25 to 30 pounds =) it's really not that heavy
depends on the brand and model, but most weigh about 5 pounds
Not very. It is a hollow instrument and in spite of its length maybe it can weight up to 8 lbs or so.
