Well, I depends on how deep you want the layer of gravel to be. But, if you just want a enough gavel to cover the space I would say about 15 to 20 bags of it. Trust me, I have done the exact same thing you are about to do.

(you can get the gravel bags from Lowe's for super cheap)

10x10xhow deep you want it in fractions of a foot = cubic feet needed. Divide total cubic feet by 27 and you have cubic yards. 1.5`` deep = .125, 3`` deep =.250 4``deep = .333 and 6`` deep = .5

Most coin size or smaller gravel runs about $20-25 a yard (ton). That will usually cover about 100 sq. feet at 3 inches deep.

How many sq ft will 7 yards of gravel cover?

That depends on the depth of gravel. I am going to assume 3 inches of gravel. One 'yard' really means a cubic yard in this context, which is volume. V = Area of base x depth 7 = (A/9)(3/36) ---- A = 7(12)(9) = 756 sq ft
