How much does an ant weight? In: Ants

A typical shooting guard or small forward in the NBA weighs about 100 kilograms and is maybe 2 meters tall. A worker ant in my office looks to be about 2 mm long.
So, it is about 1/1000 as long as a human. Volume is distance cubed, so an ant's volume would be 1/(1000*1000*1000) compared to ours, assuming that the aspect ratios are roughly similar. Now, take 100 kilograms (10^5 grams) and divide by 10^9, and we get 10^-4 grams, or 0.1 milligrams.
Given that ants are robustly composed relative to most adult human males, they may weight a bit more. On the other hand, and ant that is 1mm long may weigh a bit less (0.0125 mg, by pure scaling) so 0.1 milligrams is my story and I'm sticking to it. The queens probably weigh tons more.
