Book writer earnings can vary widely, with factors such as book sales, publishing deals, and author recognition influencing income. On average, authors may earn anywhere from a few thousand to six-figure advances for a book, with royalties typically ranging from 7-25% of book sales. Self-published authors may earn higher royalties but face increased marketing and distribution responsibilities.

2 cents per year ( if you have a dumb book )

-----------------------------------------------

This depends on so many factors. Im planning on being a writer when im older, creative writing major. Publishing companies will sometime give you a small amount of bonus money for writing ur novel when your not doing well financially (if ur broke u likely have to work the whole day, therefore wouldnt have time to write) Jk Rowling got a 15k from her publishing company to complete the first Harry Potter novel. Most books wont be read by anyone but really friends and family who buy it, but the ceiling is extremely high. Much less than one percent of authors actually make a living solely off of books. You'll likely have to work other jobs, but don't let that discourage you if its your dream.

It can very much depend on their popularity. The more books bought, the more money they make. They've also got to pay their publishers, editors, and sometimes somebody to draw illustrations to go along with the book. Authors first starting out wouldn't be in the big bucks, for sure. If you became popular and had a lot of people reading your books, you'd end up making more and more money.

It's like the difference in Stephanie Meyer and a local poet in the newpaper or just a local author, Stephanie would get paid way more because more people know of her and she's sold millions of her books.

How much money you earn varies by sometimes how well you wrote the book, how many you wrote, and if it became famous or not. For example, if you wrote a book and published it and only a few people read it, then you probably wouldn't really get made much of anything at all. If millions of people read it then you would have gotten paid a lot. Maybe somewhere over a couple thousand dollars. The profit you make off the book is split though. You get some of the money, the book store gets some money, and I think so does the publishing company. Age sometimes alters it too. If you were a child, the pay would be lower. If you were an adult on the other hand it would be higher...... catching on?

As of January, 2016, the average salary for a writer/author is somewhere between $17,000 and over $130,000 a year, depending on your level of fame and your skill at the craft. That's an average salary of about $19 per hour if you work hard and are a professional.

Per book is around 16%. Not much. But if an author is a very well known author who is a best-seller, they can make up to 60%. J.K Rowling makes around that much off of each book sold.
