The center of the scope is offset ABOUT 2 inches to the left of the centerline of the rifle. The M1C used at least 2 different scopes. To help the shooter compensate for the scope being off center, the M1C used a leather cheek pad. The pad helped move the shooter's line of sight to the left of the stock.
Carlos Hatcock USMC over 90 kills all u army lovers can suck it this man has crawled over 2 days just to kill a high value target he has shot a enemy sniper through the scope in Vietnam that shot is impossible by today's standards army sucks usmc rocks ura semper Fi thanks devil dawgs and army quit takin so much credit for what we do l/cpl out
Corporal of Horse Craig Harrison of the British Army's Household Cavalry has two confirmed kills at a range of 2,475 m (2,707 yd), and made with a L115A3 Long Range Rifle chambered for the .338 cal. Lapua Magnum.Simo Hayha of Finland achieved 500+ kills in one hundred days of fighting.Vasili Zaitsev of USSR achieved 225 kills in World War 2, and went on to train snipers responsible for a further total of 3000+ kills.Carlos Hathcock achieved 93+ kills; held the world record for the longest confirmed kill for 35 years; he is also noted for having shot an enemy sniper through the scope, ironically as that sniper would have been about to do the same to him.Various snipers - as noted above - have achieved extreme long range confirmed kills in the modern era, but these are as much a matter of luck as they are of skill.
The price can vary be condition. Original WW2 rifles can be as much as $1000 for an M-1 Garand. However, you can find cheaper ones made from components assembled from post-war used guns. German Lugar can be as much as $700. Whereas a German P-38 may be only $400.
The M1 Garand is a full size rifle and shoots the 30-06 rifle round. The M1 carbine is a much smaller rifle for personal defence that shoots a 30 cal. round ,far less powerful then the 30-06 at long range shooting (though the Carbine was never intended for long range combat) but does great damage at close/medium range. The Garand was issued to foot soldiers the carbine was normally issued to men such as radio men, mortar men, paratroopers etc. Many men liked them because the shorter carbine was easy to use in vehicles and buildings, was lighter, faster and easier to bring up to eye-level, and did more damage to human targets at close range, and less collateral damage than the 30-06 did. The Garand was loaded by an En Bloc clip, holding eight rounds, effective out to 900+ yards, while the Carbine had a box magazine holding 15 rounds, effective to 300 yards (though ideal range is 150 yards and under)
Depends on whether the scope (optical sight) was an original Wermacht fit with mount and accessories to the rifle. If that's the case, all the parts will have matching serial numbers. Mounts were machined to match only one rifle, not intended to be separated or interchanged with others, and matched S/N. Scopes were provided with leather lens caps, carry case, and other items. Additionally, if scope was made at the same time period of the rifle, it will be a more desirable matched set. As in most collectibles, condition is the next best determinant of value. If the scope is from an earlier period but with matched numbers, that will be of value. From the 1920s to the start of Third Reich militarism, Zielvier optics were manufactured primarily as sporting use optics. Many of these were exported and/or mounted to sporting Mausers with a variety of mounts. When wartime exigencies resulted in a demand by the Wermacht, the excess supply of sporting scopes were retrofitted as upgrades to Sniper kits on Mausers. These match-ups were distinct from the later matched sets and are of somewhat lesser value all other things being equal. Original finish, undamaged, with 90% bluing, pristine glass scope only without any mounts: $500-$600 Same as above with matched serial number mounts: $500-$900 Same as above with matched s/n mounts on matched rifle: $3000-5000 for pkg. Condition scales downward for damage to finish, fittings, glass, internals. Accessories add value.
pretty much I want a mid to long range weapon with a decent fire rate and good accuracy and a scope somewhere between a LMG and sniper rifle scope. was wondering 1. where I could get such a gun and 2. how much such a gun would be
depends on distance to target, and on the scope. Many are 1/8th MOA- at 100 yards, 8 clicks equals one inch- but not all scopes are the same.
In the case of the Barrett M82 rifle, about 30-31 lbs, depending on the model. The scope may add several more pounds if a night vision scope is used.
9+ pounds.
On the last level, when you go down into the trenches after blowing up the AA-Gun, there is a place where there are soldiers' beds and a few guys. Kill them, but instead of going into the room with the beds, you keep going straight through another hallway. The hallway turns left and there is a small room with boxes and shelves. On one of the boxes, there is a scope attachment for the M1 Garand. Later in the level, after you meet up with a squad of Americans, and they send you down into sniper territory. The scope helps a lot here, because you have to take out all of the snipers or they will kill you when you run through open spaces. On another level (I forgot what it is called, but it is about halfway through the game), you parachute from a plane. It is a level where you have to go through a farm place and a few barns, and go into a windmill to blow up an AA-Gun. When you jump from the plane, there is a huge barn that you can land on with green smoke coming out. Ignore that. There is a windmill with a broken roof and green smoke coming out of the top. Try to land in there, because on a box, there is a scope for the M1 Garand. Stay up in the top of the windmill if you can find a good place to snipe, because there are many Germans in the barn. In this level, the scope does not help much, but will take out the mounted machine gunners very easily. At the beginning of the level, it might be easier to just land on the barn and fall through the roof so you can storm the Germans from the inside with the MP40 that you find on a box when you fall in. Those are the only two spots that you can find the M1 Garand scope in the game. Good luck finding them.

Anywhere from $300 for a parts gun, up to over $1000
100-5000 USD or more depending on specifics
Depends upon which nationality and which war. The '03 Springfield was last used by the US during the Korean War. The US Marines used the Winchester model 70 with a Unertl scope & the US Army used the M14 (XM21) with a Redfield scope in the Viet War. The NVA used a Mosin-Nagant model 1891.
There are many T68 "sniper" models. most of them are 500+ dollars.
i leave in ilreland and a l96 airsoft sniper will cost you $400
a few hundred to a few thousand depending on exactly what you want Assuming that you are looking for an M-1 Garand, a basic, shootable rifle is about $500-600. A mint condition, M-1 D Sniper rifle, with all appropriate accessories, could be a few thousand. Fewer of them, higher demand.
