The pay varies widely depending on where you live and which type of facility you work for. I live on the east coast in NC and small clinics will pay from $10-$18/hr, where most of the hospital's beginning salary is approx $18/hr. One thing to consider before going through the 2 years plus training, is how in demand is the job market where you live. It seems to be a saturated market on the east coast (and will keep driving down the salaries). It would be prudent to ask one of the RT educators what the job placement rate is in your area.
