The age of the child (the younger the more expensive)
The area where the center is located (It will be more expensive in affluent areas)
The facility and curriculum Basically the more perks like on line cameras, extended hours, or a school like educational program you will pay a lot more I live in Louisville, KY and we paid $135.00 a week for our 6 week old to go to daycare 8 years ago. It was not a top of the line faciltiy, but she was safe and well taken care of. We opted to do in-home care with our second child almost 5 years ago, and it was dirt cheap, but there of course was not an extensive educational program. The other plus with that was that she did not stay sick like my first daughter did. Basically, the more children, the more germs, and of course frequent colds and other viruses.
The going rate here is about $175.00 a week. If you have family, that would probably be your best option if you don't qualify for a subsidy. You can also take out a F.S.A. account using pretax money to pay for care in a facility, but our brilliant (Family Values) government only allows $5K per family. Do your homework, and take your time
