It depends on the size of the aircraft you are looking for (how many passengers, etc.) and speed, fuel efficiency, etc. An alternative to purchasing and maintaining a private jet would be use a charter company or purchase a private jet membership card. The cost of chartering a small jet for shorter trips can start around $1200/hour (which may not include taxes, fuel charges and fees). Yet, by using a charter company, you will not be paying anything extra that occurs with owning a jet. The only thing you would need to do is enjoy the luxury of flying privately to your destination.
