Wedding ceremonies are performed at no cost if you are married by the on duty magistrate at the Gwinnett Justice & Administration Center, during normal business hours, Mon- Fri, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or at the courtrooms at the Gwinnett Detention Center, at all other hours, including all evenings, weekends and holidays.
You have to first obtain a valid marriage license from the Gwinnett County Probate Court - Vital Records Division weekdays between 8:00 AM. and 4:00 PM. Both the bride and groom must appear in person to apply for the marriage license. If you complete a qualifying premarital education program the cost of the marriage license is $16.00. If you do not complete a premarital education class, the cost of a marriage license is $56.00.
