How much does it cost to replace a 2004 Tahoe's key?

I am a locksmith I just had the same car on service call

pricing was as follows

service call $40 (this was a 3am service call)

miliage traveled inboud to site $30<it was 25 miles out of my normal service area

key origination $50 (all existing keys were lost so this necesitated use of locksmithing tools & teqniques to make a working key different than just copying a key)

total $120<not bad for comming to the customer at 3 am

this is a non transponder key had it been a transponder or vats (chip) key it would have costed signifigantly more

the 04 Tahoe uses a standard no chip #B-86 10 cut gm blank nothing special

If you have a working original key you could probly get it coppied for as little as $5 however if no working keys are available you will need to pay for labor and a service call to your local locksmith or GM dealer
