Normally liners are in between $800 and $1300 online for that pool. You can expect to pay a little more from a local retailer. Alot of people are doing this themselves these days, or at least ordering their liners online. If you pay your local retailer for the liner and labor, you can expect to pay about 2k- $2500 for this start to finish. This is assuming you need no bottom repair.
You can do a search for inground swimming pools on Google, and look at the sponsored links. Most of those companies are very reliable and nicely priced.

I agree with whats said for the most part up top, but you have to remember that pools arent always true to their measurements. Just because you have a 18x36 inground and you can buy the liner online, doesnt mean its going to fit in nicely. Your outside diameter may be 18x36 but what about the ramp measurements? Slope measurements? shallow end floor to break point measurements? Deep end wall measurements? All pools are different. Just because you have a 18x36 or whatever size doesnt mean its going to look nice and wrinkle free. Yes it is more money to go through your local pool service but they come out, take lots of measurements of your pool so that the liner is SPECIFICLY made for YOUR pool. Plus your going to get a better warranty through a company that the pool company goes through that makes the liner and they know everything about that liner verse something you buy online. A lot of places now a days wont install a liner that someone buys online because they wont assume responsibility if something goes wrong with it. Honestly your better off contacting your local pool place and having them do everything and just pay the bill. Its a potentially safter bet in the long run.
If it is a normal shaped rectangle, I would say $1500 for the liner and another $500 for an install. But if it is an odd or custom shape you can add $500-1000. You can also add $500 or so if you want a thicker better liner. So, from $1,500 to $3,500 depending on some other factors
If you are tired of replacing your vinyl liners, you might want to check out fiberglass as an option. A new fiberglass surface can be applied to your pool, and you will get a much longer life out of it. You can read more at: http://www.advancedpoolcoatings.com
I live in Anaheim California and just had mine done December 09.....same size....I went out for bid and the range was $2700 to $3100.
$442
Think of it like this. This liner is 15 years old. How much is going to cost me to keep on fixing this one? How much is it going to cost me to put in a new one? More than likely, it will be cheaper to replace it. Good luck:)
There are several variables that affect the overall cost of building and maintaining an inground pool, including the size of the pool and the material will comprise it. In the Chicagoland area a small, basic inground pool will cost between $20,000 and $50,000. Some of the larger, deeper and more high-end inground pools can cost as much as $100,000. It cost me $850 in the Springfield MO area plus the cost of the liner and materials. Thought that was pretty high myself.

Well first of all there is no such thing as a fiberglass pool. You can have fiberglass walls instead of steel but your pool is still vinyl because you need a liner. These are the usual combinations of inground pools. Sand floor, steel walls, vinyl liner Sand floor, fiberglass walls, vinyl liner Vermiculite floor, steel walls, vinyl liner Vermiculite floor, fiberglass walls, vinyl liner Concrete floor, steel walls, vinyl liner Concrete floor, fiberglass walls, vinyl liner Concrete floor, concrete walls, no liner Concrete pools have to be painted with epoxy paint or if you want tile installed then usually you plaster over the concrete. Now a days 3 and 4 are the most common inground installs. 1 and 2 are usually pools that are 30 + years old although you can still have them done that way. In South Alabama the cost of a 20 *40 vinyl pool will cost around 18 to 22 thousand
Pvc glue cost about $6.49 a can about 8 ounces.
