It depends on the seller and the item purchased.
The cost to sell on eBay varies depending on which eBay site you're selling on, and how you list your item. When you sell an item, you're able to review your fees on the listing form before you submit your listing.
The fees we charge fall into 3 categories:
Insertion fees: When you list an item, you're charged an insertion fee for the listing. The insertion fee is based on the starting price and the category of the item. If you specify a reserve price, the insertion fee is based on the reserve price amount.
Final value fees: If the item sells, you're charged a final value fee. The final value fee is based on the item's total cost to the buyer. The item's total cost to the buyer includes item price and shipping costs plus any other costs to the buyer (less any sales tax).
Note: For vehicle listings on eBay Motors this fee is called the successful listing fee. For listings in the eBay Real Estate category this fee is called the notice fee.
Listing upgrades: If you add upgrades to your listing, such as a subtitle or extra pictures, there's an additional charge for each listing upgrade.
eBay merely provides a "platform" for sellers to offer their items to other members. Postage costs, therefore, vary from item to item, depending on weight, location, which mailing service the seller uses and so on. Postage (shipping) costs are shown on each item listing page, although if the seller has omitted to enter that information, it is always wise to ask them for the cost of posting/shipping to the buyers own location beforebidding.
You pay to list your item and have to pay that fee whether the item sells or not.
If it goes on to sell, you also have to pay what they call a final value fee.
The fees vary widely, depending on the price of your item and what category it falls under, so the only way to see how much it is likely to cost you to post your item is to check the fees out for yourself.
EBay charges a listing fee for each item you attempt to sell. The price eBay charges to list the item depends on the starting price of the item. EBay also charges a final sales fee, which varies depending on how much the item sells for.
