8-24-08 Rebar costs anywhere between $.55 / lb to $.60 / lb for full truckloads of 60-0 material. Fabricated Rebar detailed to contract plan specs with placing plans ranges between the $.65 / lb up to $.80 / lb. There are many variables that are taken into consideration, too many to list, but some of the more important are size of the project, fabrication labor, size of the bar required, detailing labor, duration of project, etc. Most contracts include escalations for contracts expected to last over 3 months. Contact your local rebar fabricator for more up to date info. A reputable rebar fabricator will provides you with an estimate of rebar weight and a rough schedule for submitting placing plans and fabrication schedule from the approved plans. Be wary of hand drawn placing plans. In general, hand drawn placing plans take longer to be approved for obvious reasons and may become hard to read after being scanned and copied too many times. You should always ask for examples of the placing plans before agreeing to a contract. Poor placing plans can severely hold up the approval process and can cost additional labor as well as "extra" material costs. Also, always ask about turn around time for last minute needs on-site. Choose wisely. Its the first thing to go in the gound. Start your project off right. You can always get something cheaper from the larger suppliers but know you get in line when urgent needs arise, and they almost always do.

Depends on the person and the size of the rebar. 3/8 or 1/2 inch, grab it and bend it. 5/8 or 3/4 slide a piece of pipe over and bend. 1 inch you have to heat and bend.
