The actual answer varies based upon the size of the school and the extent to which they attempt to conserve energy.

As a guideline, a 1000 square-foot building uses approximately 1,146 kW per day under the assumption that (on average) 17 kWh of electricity is used per square foot annually. So, that's 1.146 kW per day per square foot of space.

This answer has many variables due to the square foot area of the school. Basic school power estimates are based on so many watts per square foot. Depending on where the school is located and what school the country is in all have to fit into the equation. Whether the school needs heat in the winter time or air conditioning in the summer time all add up to the total consumption of electrical power.

How many amps is 50 kilowatts?

It depends on the voltage. For example if you had 120 volts (average Alternating Current supply voltage) you would have 6 kilowatts. However, if you were dealing with 12 volts (average Direct Current supply voltage) you would only have 1.4 kilowatts. Use the following equation to calculate the number of kilowatts produced from different voltages:(Voltage x 50)/1000 = # kilowatts
