Springers are beautiful, gorgeous dogs but they do need a reasonable amount of exercise. At the very minimum you should be looking at a 1/2 hour walk and 1/2 hour free run morning and night as well as at least 1/2 -1 hr free run/play during the day.
If they have been exercised sufficiently they will be quiet in the house. We have had border collie's and springers and both need to be kept mentally as well as physically active. You also need to think about keeping them mentally active - keep them thinking - they are clever dogs who like to solve problems
Saying that, they are really good pets - very good with kids and will love them to death - but don't expect them to be very good guard dogs - Ensure you are the alpha dog in the pack and you will have a happy and health dog.
