usually a hamster ranges from $10 to $50. The cage itself could be anywhere from $30 to $50. The food is about $6 and the accessories (wheel, hamster ball) about $15 and bedding is about $8. These are all just rough costs of the stuff it depends where you go and what stuff you buy. another great thing to use is a fish tank and get a topper which comes with ramps and stuff.

Around 40-60.00 depending on how elaborate the housing. Most pet food stores that sell them sell the habitats, or you can buy online. (see below for examples) the only thing I advise is you don't buy any cage with bars. They constantly chew on them and will drive you crazy. Get an aquarium type or the poly glass habitrail type so they can't do that. Make sure joints are all secure. They constantly try to escape.

The price for everything combined for a regular hamster would be about $120. The hamster cost about $15 the cage about $50. Then you need the food treats toys bedding wheel ball so about $120.

Can you show me a cage for 2 hamsters?

a tank is an ideal hamster cage (because they cannot bit bars or escape or flick woodshavings all over) for 2. As long as you havefood, food dish, water bottle, woodshavings, bedding and extras it will be one very happy hamster. (you can get hamster cages all over from £1.00) AND REMEMBERDON`T PUT 2 SYRAINS IN TOGETHER UNLESS YOUR A BREEDER.

I'm getting a hamster on Friday any advice?

make sure you have a big enough cage, hamster wheel and proper food and bedding. If your getting a tank make sure your get a lid with latches to lock it because they will get out otherwise. Make sure to clean his cage weekly or else it will start to smell. You can mix up his diet by giving him different fruits or vegetable but not too much. You can read up on the safe fresh treats to give them by searching it on google.

Can hamsters live in plastic boxes?

I can't see why not. My hamster is in a fish tank just make sure it is a big enough tank though and most hamster's do grow so make sure it's big enough. I have my Teddy bear hamster in a 10 gallon but i failed to realize he was going to get so much bigger so i go a tank add on with sits on top of the tank and has ramps and such for it to climb up. Just make sure you have a top to the tank held down by something or else it can get out as well as bedding and such for it.

What to do with a pregnant hamster?

If Your Hamster Is Pregant What You Should Do Is Leave The Hamster Alone. The Reason Is Because If You Try To Pick Her Up She Will Bite You And Will Be A Spaz Sometimes. [ Trust Me This Happened To Me. ] Next You Should Only Go Near The Tank To Eather Give Her Food And Or Water. Also You Should Not Have A Lot Of People Standing Around The Tank Because She Needs To Protect Her Young.

What are the main gerbil needs?

they are very easy to look after about £20 a month if you spoil them they dont fight they live better in a group and i would get a tank food saw dust bedding straw or hay and some toys Gerbils can be kept even cheaper than £20. Including food, treats, toys and bedding, mine probably cost me about £10 a month at the most. The food and bedding last ages, and toys disappear fast, but you can get loads really cheap. Their main needs are gerbil food, water, bedding (preferably not straw or hay, one is bad for them, although i don't remember which), toilet roll tubes are a must for gerbils! they love them! If you don't have a gerbilarium for them (a tank with a cage on top) then a tank or a cage with a relitively deep bottom is good too. They need enough bedding to be able to dig in, and preferably curl up and sleep in, if your cage isn't deep enough, then something like a coconut shell is a perfect hiding place for them!

How do you clean a tank before a hamster has using it?

well my dad bought a hamster from me and we cleaned the fish tank we were putting them in using bleach or something but we made sure that no residue from the bleach was left behind by scrubing it down with water and we let it dry. then we put the shavings, wheel, food, ect ect in

Is it safe for a Syrian hamster to live in a ten gallon tank?

Yes just make sure you have a lid to the tank with some type of lock to hold the top down or else they can get out pretty easily. ( I had experience lol) also make sure you have good bedding and i would recommend getting a small animal tank heater and put it under its homing area where it sleeps

What should you put in your fish tank?

You can make a Syrian hamster setup in a 10+ gallon fish tank. Make sure there is no water and that there is very soft bedding. You could also put various fish in your tank. The cool ones I think are the Angelfish, the Bettas, the X-ray Tetras, and the Neon Tetras. They need water and plants to swim around. You could put turtles in you fish tank. They need a very large tank though.

Is it ok to have a hamster in a glass tank?

Of course! Just leave the top open or buy a screened tank cover. If you have a Syrian hamster, try to find a nice tall tank, because mine escaped by standing on its wheel!

I can't tell if my hamster is pregnant or not?

How you can tell if a hamster is pregant is first she will have a big but. second she will also be drinking a lot of water and will be storing lots of food in her house. also she will be excersing on the wheel and last you should always look for a nesting area in the tank.

what does my hamster need?

To Own a hamster you need things such as1. Water bottle (You need to fill the bottle with water everyday, you also need a hanger for the bottle)2. Glass Cage with WELL-VENTILATED TOP, or a wire cage with a SOLID floor and spacing no more than 1/2 inch.3. Food Dish (You need to buy food also, use Ecotrition or Supreme Hazel)4. Bag of bedding (DO NOT USE PINE PRODUCTS. Change once a week as needed)5. Wheel 8in or larger (smaller models cause back problems and pain for Syrians) WITHOUT WIRE - use Comfort Wheel or Silent Spinner. Hamsters can get their little feet caught between wires and seriously injure themselves.6) House - wooden or plastic (remove if the hamster chews the plastic) home for it to sleep in7) Small fruit tree branches for chewing, available at most pet stores (hamster teeth never stop growing, so they need something to gnaw at)8) Potty - Little John Hi-Corner potties are only a few dollars and work perfectly.*Give hamsters fresh food as well - they should have a small amount of vegetables daily (make sure you look up the list of foods they're allergic to first, though) and you can give them a treat in the form of fruit and grain snacks once every 2 weeks or so.Also, use toilet paper rolls or hamster accessories to give your hamster things to do other than run on their wheel - they love climbing and exploring! This is what I have found that works the best for caring for my little hammy.Cage10 gallon tank, with a fitting wired top or a layered expansion.Plastic cages may look neat, but are poorly ventilated and are very difficult to clean and put together.Wired cages have good ventilation, but they make a big mess. ( hamsters tend to kick there bedding out) They are also very noisey (hamsters tend to climb up the bars and chew)BeddingHamster bedding is normaly made from wood shavings. Look on the back of the bag find a bedding with low amount of dust, and high absorment rate.NO CEDAR shavingsYou can also make your own out of newspaper shred up the newspaper into shreds, make sure it is at least 3 in deep (hamsters are burowing animals)Care productsHanging water bottleBird feed (food)Wood Chews (no dyes, or cedar)ToysWire wheelplastic ball for them to roll intubes (toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls, No plastic)
