The value of a 1963 red printed $1 bill can vary depending on its condition and any unique characteristics it may have. In general, these bills are not considered rare or particularly valuable among collectors and are typically worth around face value or slightly more. If the bill is in crisp, uncirculated condition or has any printing errors or rare serial numbers, it could be worth slightly more to a collector.

To the best of my knowledge, a circulated 1963 the dollar bill should be worth about $15.00 as of 2/2009. A bill that has not yet been circulated may be worth more, maybe up to $25.00.
The 'L' just indicates the bank that printed the note (San Francisco). If the note is in used condition then it will be worth precisely $1.00. An uncirculated quality $1 note from 1963 is worth $4.00

1 : $2 bills are not silver, they're paper. 2 : Bills are printed, not minted. 3 : No $2 bills of any kind were printed in 2000. So what DO you have? Any $2 bill dated 1963 or later is worth face value only.
Please check again. The US printed $2 bills dated 1953 and 1963, but not 1973. 1976 is the closest date.
