I understand that a 1972 dollar coin is worth One dollar. (in circulated condition) Tom If it's a circulation strike, it's worth $1. Usually even uncirculated rolls when sold at an auction will bring less than face value after the auctioneer's commission is taken out. However, if it has an "S" mintmark and is mint-sealed in mylar with a blue envelope, it is an uncirculated 40% silver coin worth about $6. If it is a proof coin sealed in a hard plactic case and packaged in a brown box (also with an "S" mintmark) it lists at $6.50.

10¢ if you found it in change.

Dimes made in 1965 and later are made of copper and nickel, not silver, and are only worth face value. Check your pocket change for lots more of them. If you have a coin that appears to be silver it was probably plated for use in a bracelet or similar jewelry.

Note that dimes (and quarters, nickels, and halves) minted in Philadelphia before 1980 do not have mint marks.

I would say that it is at least worth 10 cents.

If you got it as change, it's just a dime. Even high grade Mint State coins are less than a dollar

If it is in uncirculated condition it is worth $4.00. Below that condition it is pretty much worth a dollar.

If you got it in change, it's just a common dime that's nothing special. A high grade uncirculated coin may have a value of 50 cents.
