If you mean a real silver dollar made in 1935 or BEFORE, as of 07/2011 they are worth $30.00 just for the silver.

The value of a silver dollar can range from $1.00 to $42000.00 or more. The value depends on the quality, the amount of silver, the year coin was made and many other variables.

These coins are sold for their silver content. The $1 denomination is an artificial amount. Silver currently goes for about $14/oz.

Also, this site has a Coins and Currency thread that is more appropriate to questions about, uh, coins and currency. Money and Credit is generally for questions about credit cards, finances, checking accounts, etc.

Assuming you have the US Silver Eagle, it has an official value of $1, but it is traded as bullion. Dealers buy at about 80-90 % of spot silver prices and sell at 110-120%. The current spot price is available in the financial section of your daily newspaper. Look for a small box usually labeled "Precious Metals".

That's an extremely broad question. 90%-silver half dollars were struck from 1794 to 1964 at 5 different mints so there are literally hundreds of possible combinations.

You'll need to know each coin's date, condition, and whether it has a mint mark. You can then get an idea of current retail values by visiting a site such as the one linked below. Scroll down to the Numismedia links and click on the half-dollar pages.

Without knowing details like the date and condition, it's impossible to give a specific answer. Based on silver content alone, it's worth at least $12.
