These were produced in the early 1900's. They were sold door to door and it was a combination of something that could be plucked like an Ukulele, or bowed like a violin. It was set up with a number system that made it easy to play.

Value is minimal, you can purchase them on eBay for anywhere from $20 to $100 depending on condition.

They are relatively common. They were sold door-to-door on a payment plan. They can be purchased in fair shape for as little as $25 on some auciton sites. One with the original case, bow, and music might get twice that. They could be played with a bow or strummed/plucked like an ukulele.

Depends on the manufacturer, condition and what comes with it. I've seen some go for upwards of $200 on ebay and others with starting bids of $20.
