How much is a coach shotgun? |
[Edit] |
If you are looking for a new gun, go to Cabella's, Dick's, or Gander Mountain and look at the tags. If you want an old one that could have been carried on a stage coach, try to find one on Antiqueguns.com, Oldguns.net, Actionarms.com, etc. Most that you will find are inexpensive old double barrels that were cut down long after the last stage line disappeared. If you want one that can be verified as property of Wells Fargo or the Adams Stage Line insist on getting solid documentation (bill of sale to or from the company that includes the serial number or an Ithaca which is listed in some book 'Ithaca Gun Company - From the Beginning') and be prepared to pay a large sum of money. The REAL coach guns will NOT have shortened barrels.
And of course, the value of any firearm depends on it's condition. One in like-new condition may be worth 100 times another that is identical but badly worn.
