Depends on what, exactly, you're doing. Can be just a few bucks ($25-$100) up to confiscation of boat, gear, vehicle, etc plus jail time. Really depends on where you're fishing, what you already have caught and any other violations they find when they catch you. If you are WAY over the limits with no license the wardens and courts can be really rude.

Lifetime Licenses
Never buy a fishing or hunting license again! For a one time price, Georgians can enjoy a lifetime of our state's great fishing and hunting. Lifetime licenses cover all sport fishing and hunting, except for the Federal Duck Stamp and the free Federal Harvest Information Program Permit. Deer hunters also must pick up a Deer Harvest Record from a license dealer prior to hunting each year. Lifetime licenses are valid for the life of the person, even if they move out of Georgia. People who purchase a lifetime license will receive a colorful, plastic license card. Senior (65+) lifetime license holders may purchase the plastic card for a $10 processing fee. You must be a Georgia resident for at least 12 months immediately prior to applying and provide proof of residency in order to be eligible. Lifetime licenses for Georgia resident hunters and anglers cost:

They (game warden) could right you a ticket costing you some money and possibly take all the fishing gear you have on you at the time.www.southernohiopaylakes.proboards.com
Its not worth it not matter whAT!!
You have to pay the ticket or NY will have GA suspend your license.
Alabama will report the ticket and the violation to the Georgia DMV. If there are enough points on the GA teens license he could lose it because of that.
It isn't even a misdemor. It shouldn't evem show up. Mine didn't. lol
Yep.
if i was caught without a license first i would ask, show me the document that you have in your possession that you own the fish and the water, and the poles are my private property, and to take them would be theft. It is my belief,we have a right to fish!huckfin
There will be a large fine in most states, but nothing that will go on your record. Make sure you don't get caught twice though, then they start coming after you. XCbadger44
You DIE. don't get a ticket without a license
what State do you live in??
I don't know where you live, but generally speaking, no, misspellings do not invalidate a citation.
The ticket can be dismissed if your license was valid on the day of the ticket and you bring it to court with you. (Texas)
