Being that the age of this Flute is over 50 years, it has probably reached its lifetime. The M2 flutes are a student model as well, also taking a chunk out of its value. Depending on the metals with which it was made, either silver or nickel plated, the value may vary quite a bit. The nickel plated M2's are not as resonant and tend to play fuzzier than the silver variety. However, old flutes do tend to fall into desrepair more often and may be very expensive to bring back to playability. If you are considering purchasing an old M2, I would advise against it. If you are considering upgrading to a newer flute and/or selling your Gemeinhardt, I highly recommend a Yamaha flute. They have a variety of models and a price range for everyone. Your M2 might sell for 100-180 on eBay, again depending on its condition and metals. For more information about the general value of this instrument, try going to eBay or an online dealer of used instruments and check out the going rate for your 1960 instrument. I hope I helped!

A 1,000 bucks to 400 bucks; SomeWhere In Between
Sorry, Gemeinhardt M2 in perfect like new condition might be worth a $1000, but a used M2 is an old, not special flute, of limited value. If it has a silver headjoint it is worth $100 or more for condition. If it is solid silver it is worth 300 or more for condition. An M2 silver plate is worth almost nothing unless it plays and sounds great, then maybe $100.
It depends on the condition. If it is used and in good condition (no pad leaks), then it can be sold for $400-$450. If it has dents in it, pads are not in that great shape then the max would be $350. If it is brand new then i would not pay more than $700 for it since it is a beginning flute and is notorious for pad leaks. I would not recommend this flute to purchase.
A Gemeinhardt M2 is about a 50 year old flute of OK quality. Most old flutes like this are worn and not worth more than the silver content. If it happens to sound great and is not worn it could be worth $150 to $175.
Silver in it is about a hundred dollars.
$350
USD$1-400, Depends on the state of conservation.
The Gemeinhardt Model 2NP is a student model of flute. It is a good flute to learn on, but does not have a rich, concert-quality sound.
The Germeinhardt flute and various other instruments manufactured by the Gemeinhardt company can be purchased from the official Gemeinhardt website. There is also a dealer locator for those that do not wish to purchase online.
The Ali Ryerson Brio flute from Gemeinhardt currently starts at $4,119 from Fluteworld.com (retail price is $5.463). The Ali Ryerson Brio Alto flute is currently $2,329 from fluteworld (retail price is $4,249)
The value of an Armstrong flute with a serial number of 7058438 varies depending on the actual condition of the flute. The flute might sell for as much as $150 or as little as $70.
This particular serial number isn't found anywhere within the ranges listed on the Gemeinhardt website. It's possible that this is a typo; more information about the specific flute model would be useful in better narrowing down this instrument's age.

Without looking at the flute and seeing what condition it is, you cannot fully say what it is worth. Bring it into music shop and ask them. They usually have a blue book and repair technitions on hand to look at instruments and appraise them.
The Gemienhardt Flute is the most recommended flute for beginners and students in the world. So I would presume that the Gemeinhardt Flute has to be the one that is produced the most.

I have a Selmer Flute and would like to know when it was made. The serial # is 776481.
Any where from $260 to $375 is a fair price.
Yes, Gemeinhardt produces a lovely tone and is great for a student who wants to score high in the music area. I suggest an open hole flute, which is for people who are intermediate-professional. It gives you a solid tone and a more pure sound. Gemeinhardts usually have an extra footjoint which allows you to play an octave lower than a regular flute. It is probably the most widely known and used student flute.
