I just paid the traffic fine on 1/12/2009 and it was $120. The online system did not give me a breakdown, so I do not know what is the fine and what the surcharge. The ticket occurred in Manhattan. I knew it will be expensive, but if I would know it is this much, I would have taken it to court. The online system is sneaky and will not give you the total ticket amount until you plead guilty. Hope this helps, VJ
A seatbelt violation in New York has a maximum fine of $100.00 and 3 points on your driving record.
I received a speeding ticket that I talked the trooper down to writing me for a seatbelt violation. My insurance did not go up as a result of this ticket. (I live in New York).
Yes. Not wearing a seatbelt is breaking the law.

yes
Yes BUT only if you are an Ontario or Quebec resident.
New York does report speeding tickets to Ontario and it will show on your driving record for points and insurance increase. Often a New York traffic attorney can get the ticket reduced depending on the circumstances and jurisdiction.
$155, $75 ticket + $80 surcharge
The fee for a speeding ticket depends on how many points you have already accumulated. If you are driving with a suspended or revoked license, your fee will be higher.
