"Value" in collectibles does not only rely on how old an object is, but whether it is rare or common. John F. Kennedy died in 1963. Though this seems very long ago, it is not "old" in the world of collecting.

Also, recordings were more easily made between 1940s-1960s and more people were making audio records. For example, girlfriends and wives used to make "records" at the local drug store to send overseas to soldiers in the war(s). As well, JFK was a highly popular President whose words resonated across the USA. So a recording of JFK is not rare.

You might want to keep it in your family. In another 50-100 years, it might be rarer to have a copy and thus increase in value. But for now, it is not worth much at all.

Do vinyl albums give a more true sound reproduction than compact discs?

please anser No. Vinyl recordings are called "analogue." Which means it is "analogous" which means it is close to the original, but not exactly the same. So a vinyl recording is very close to the original sound produced by whatever is being recorded, but not quite the same. A digital recording is much, much closer to the original recording. However, many people feel the vinyl analogue recording sounds better. It has a deeper, bass sound than some recordings. And it just sounds different, which some people prefer. So a vinyl recordin is not more true to the original sound, but some people prefer it.

What does the term analog mean?

In general terms, an analog is something that resembles something else. Analog recording is found in a vinyl record album, in which the shape of the vinyl is analogous to the shape of sound waves as displayed on an oscilloscope. This is in comparison to digital recording which records sound in the form of a series of numbers (or digits).

A vinyl record is an example of analog storage for audio?

Analog is the opposite of digital, for example recording on a casette tape is an analog-type recording and is now actually kind of ancient. It just means you're recording on to a hard copy- not to a file etc.
