Gold is measured in ounces and 24k so for simple math, here is what your 18 half oz gold would be worth if gold was trading at $1,000. 18k is 3/4 of 24k so a half oz of 24k would be worth $500 but since yours is only 18k it would be worth 3/4 of $500 so you would have $375 of gold value. FYI.......that is your "market" value. If your wanting to sell it to a place only expect 80% of the value. To get the most money......sell it on EBAY and cut out the middle man. You will have to pay fees but you will come out better than selling to a local gold buyer.
