could be free, depends if you've got a welder or not or know how to weld? other option i know of would be drain the oil, pull the oil pan. clean it up good and use j b weld(cold weld). I had that problem last year with my Audi A4, the j b weld is still there hard as metal.
i want to fix a 1995 astro vans oil pan how do i go about that?
You may need to reseal the oil pan
How do u fix a stripped out oil pan
replace pan (junk yard, used part) or find a somone who welds aluminum. New oil pan from the dealer would be expencive.
Just remove the oil pan and repair or replace it.
you have water in the oil. either a blown head gasket or a cracked cylender head.
Located in the oil pan
Look for broken/cracked oil pan, broken/cracked oil filter; loose oil pan cap; leaking gasket on pan, filter, pan cap; main bearings; cracked block. Possibly even from a bad valve cover gasket. Look underneath the engine for fresh oil that has leaked and you can narrow down the search, try putting a piece of cardboard under your engine as soon as you shut it off .it will give you a good indication where your leak is coming from
Replacing the oil pan gasket is a fairly simple process. The labor allotment for replacement is 3/4 hour plus parts. Removing the oil pan requires a full oil change by necessity as well.
155 for barnad new oil pan and possibly 2 hr labour that will 160 all cost you lookin at 350
depends on where its leaking......could be easy if its a loose filter or loose drain plug but you could also have a blown gasket somwhere whether it be the oil pan head gasket or a cracked block
ok well you dont want to flatten it. if its cracked or bent get a new one.
