A body weighs the same in water as on land. because water is more dense than air, the body APPEARS to be lighter, but it is not

To determine the wieght of any obect in water that is not floating subtract the weight of an equal volume of water (the amount of water displaced by the object) from the weight of the object when outside of the water.
