How much liability insurance is needed for a food pantry?

Serving the poor has it's risks!Depending on their locale, they should at least have $300,000 of owners, landlord and tenants liability. The people that are served by these places are often elderly or disabled and may not have any personal health insurance. At my insurance agency we have seen a simple slip and fall go as high as $45,000. In addition with all the food scares someone is always looking for someone else to pay even if it happens to be the middle man as in the case of a food pantry. And much of this the public does not understand, if someone were to die from food poisoning a relative of theirs or a court appointment executor may feel they have no choice but to sue the pantry itself. Of course I would recommend $1,000,000 for the food pantries in the cities... there are more opportunist there, looking for creative ways to make a dollar. In one city, the name I won't mention, it is often said, that when a bus accident occurs there are more law suits for injuries than seats on the bus.
